Mentoring and Evaluation

The Office of the Dean of Students organises orientation to train the female mentors to assist the female students population with their personal issues including victims of sexual harassment. The mentors assist the female students to increase their personal self esteem and ‘or with positive self affirmation. Some topics addressed include:

• Sexual harassment and the counselling process
• Concept of gender and gender mainstream
• Handling victims of sexual harassment and ethical issues
• Unsafe abortion: a major cause of maternal death in Ghana
• Basic counselling
• Sexual Harassment in tertiary institutions in Ghana
• Work place discrimination
• Planning a successful carrier in science and technology
