USMLE Step 1 Exam Preparation

Preparation for the USMLE Step 1 Exam is an important part of the KQMUC – School of Medicine Basic Sciences curriculum.

The USMLE Step 1 Exam is widely considered one of the most difficult of all professional licensing evaluations, comprising about 350 multiple-choice questions in seven one-hour test blocks.

KQMUC – School of Medicine provides extensive preparation in the fifth semester course—Medical Board Review—which utilizes 160 hours of lectures, lecture notes and computerized testing from Kaplan Medical. During the opening weeks of the course, students are offered a diagnostic pre-test to help identify areas of challenge and assist in developing strategically designed study goals and schedules. In addition to the review materials, students are presented with the essential elements of each subject area in live review sessions led by experienced faculty and guest lecturers.

In addition, students are given practice exams, previously used shelf boards, and structured curriculum review materials to enhance their test-taking skills. Following completion of the review materials, students are offered a full-length, simulated USMLE Step 1 exam to evaluate the comprehensiveness of their preparation.

In short, KQMUC – School of Medicine  is committed to doing everything possible to help ensure your success on this all important exam. The 85%+  USMLE Step 1 pass rate for KQMUC – School of Medicine students reflects the high level of attention given to this exam in the  KQMUC – School of Medicine curriculum.
